Rio de Janeiro (River of January) is the second largest city in Brazil with a population of 6.3 million. Rio is the most visited city in the southern hemisphere and is known for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba and beaches such as Copacabana and Ipanema. Some of the most famous landmarks include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer (one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World) at 130 feet tall and built between 1922 to 1931 atop Corcovado mountain, rising 700 metres above sea level. Also Sugarloaf Mountain, which is 396 meters high, above the harbour with its cable car famously featured in the James Bond Movie “Moonraker”.

Lesser known but instantly familiar from feature films is Iguassu Falls - the largest waterfall system in the world. Stretching almost 3km along the border of Argentina and Brazil, the falls are made up of roughly 275 different vertical drops, with heights varying from 60 metres - 82 metres flowing from Brazil into Argentina. This makes the Iguazu Falls taller than Niagara Falls and twice as wide. What do we do with your personal data?

When your credit card details are required as part of the booking process, we store the last 4 digits and an authorisation code. In the case of some low-cost airlines, we will use the payment details you provide to purchase the flight seats on your behalf.

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"), including (in some instances) where we transfer your data to our suppliers so that they can assist us with providing our services to you.
